The initiative “Strengthening the Productive Chain of Cocoa in the Selva Region of Peru” is implemented by Rikolto and benefits around 1,600 producers, half of whom are women and young people. It aims to strengthen the cocoa chain through organizational capacity building, quality improvement, and market linkage. It also seeks to ensure sustainable and inclusive production through agroforestry systems and improved post-harvest practices. The project focuses on increasing income and food security in the San Martín, Huánuco, and Ucayali regions.
