Fundación para el Desarrollo Empresarial Rural (Funder) Honduras (EN)

The Foundation promotes participatory processes for rural business development through training and technical assistance in organization, production, processing, marketing, financing, and strengthening of business units of small and medium-sized producers (Funder, n.d.). Its goal is to improve the sustainable quality of life of rural families. Since 1997, it has benefited over 36,000 families across 17 departments of Honduras, supporting 690 rural savings and credit groups, 225 businesses, 12,721 families, 20 value chains, 82 products, 1,130 communities, 190 municipalities, and 945 rural businesses. The foundation is composed of civil society representatives (rural business organizations), the private sector, and a representative from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Funder, n.d.).
