Proyecto Sello de Agricultura Familiar Campesina: Comercialización Asociativa e Inclusiva en la Frontera Norte del Ecuador (EN)

Ecuador’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock created and institutionalized the Family Farming Seal (AFC). The project “Family Farming Seal: Associative and Inclusive Commercialization in the Northern Border of Ecuador” was implemented by IICA between 2020 and 2023 to lay the foundation for national-level implementation of the seal as a strategy to differentiate and empower AFC producers. The seal is becoming a national and international reference, and the experience has been shared with government institutions in Colombia and Bolivia. The main objective of the project was to strengthen the commercialization processes and social recognition of products from family farming agrifood systems identified with the AFC Seal in the provinces of Ecuador’s northern border.
