Description

The National Green Business Plan 2022–2030 provides guidelines, instruments, incentives, and tools for the development, strengthening, promotion, and scaling of Green and Sustainable Businesses in Colombia. It is a tool for the development and positioning of goods and services that generate a positive environmental impact. The first Plan was formulated in 2014, and this update through 2030 builds on eight years of implementation experience. It is the result of a joint effort by the Government of Colombia, environmental authorities, environmental research institutes, public and private institutions, green businesses, and the technical consulting team.

Observations

A novel element of this new plan, compared to the previous one, is its triple impact approach—social, environmental, and economic—framed within a sustainability perspective. It places communities at the center of territorial development, emphasizing their empowerment, ancestral knowledge, and sustainable use of natural resources. All of this aims to generate a robust ecosystem that enables a green economic transition in Colombia’s regions, increasing the supply of green ventures, green businesses, and green anchor companies, as well as the development of supply networks, value chains, innovation, and business scaling.
