Description
Agrosolidaria is a solidarity economic community in the agro-food sector that integrates small producers, processors, distributors, and consumers within a Solidarity Economic Circuit. Agrosolidaria is framed within the philosophical principles of solidarity socio-economics, fair trade between rural and urban areas (south-south), and agroecology. It is conceived as a confederation of prosumers linking producers and consumers.
Observations
It has a presence in 18 departments and 107 municipalities, linking 126 associations that group 32,000 families. They seek to "weave an agro-food network of fair trade between rural and urban areas, with an agroecological focus and community finance." They are framed within the peasant, indigenous, and Afro-descendant economy with values of integration, organization, and reciprocity (Salazar, 2017).
