EnGenDER (Enabling Gender-Responsive Disaster Recovery, Climate, and Environmental Resilience in the Caribbean)

The first objective is to integrate gender equality and human rights approaches into disaster risk reduction (DRR), climate change adaptation (CC) and environmental management strategies. This involves ensuring that policies and actions in these fields recognise and promote gender equity, ensuring that both women and men have equal access to the benefits of the solutions implemented. The second objective is to identify and address existing gaps to ensure equal access to risk reduction and climate change adaptation solutions for all groups, including men, women, boys and girls. This objective seeks to eliminate inequalities and ensure that interventions are inclusive and beneficial for all sectors of the population, especially those who have historically been more vulnerable to the effects of climate change and disasters.
