Paraguay - Assistance in strengthening departmental public management

The project's main objective is to improve local public management capacity in the country's 17 governorates. To this end, the Paraguayan government, in collaboration with ITAIPU Binacional and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), has implemented a plan that includes the delivery of 175 pieces of road and agricultural machinery. The machinery delivered includes motor graders, agricultural tractors, backhoes, compactors, dump trucks, excavators, loaders and harrows. This equipment is intended to improve road infrastructure and facilitate access to basic services, in order to promote economic, social and cultural development in the communities. In addition, the project includes the training of local officials to ensure the efficient use and proper maintenance of the machinery delivered.
