Supporting the Joint Implementation Framework for Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) in Guyana

The project seeks to support the joint implementation of Forest Law, Governance and Trade (FLEGT) between the EU and Guyana, contributing to the development of a green economy in Guyana. Its objectives are to improve forest sector governance, strengthen stakeholder engagement in the Voluntary Partnership Agreement (VPA) process, and promote information exchange between the EU and Guyana to ensure the sustainability of the FLEGT VPA. As a result, the Guyana Forestry Commission and other stakeholders are expected to implement regulatory changes and audits that validate timber legality and promote sustainable forest management.
