Fecha de fin: 30/06/2027

Description

The objective of the project is to support the development of policies, regulations and tools to promote sustainable agriculture in Panama, Honduras, El Salvador and Belize. The project seeks to generate solid knowledge on the social, economic and environmental dimensions of agricultural sector sustainability to support the formulation of public policies and programs based on scientific evidence, promote green and inclusive finance and conceptualize pilots of green financial products for the agricultural sector. In addition, it aims to inform and prepare countries to comply with the growing socio-environmental and climate requirements in international trade, developing policies, regulations and monitoring and traceability tools. The project is structured in three main components. The first focuses on generating relevant information on agricultural sustainability in the areas of influence of the investment operations financed by the IDB, designing monitoring protocols for key indicators and disseminating results, developing capacities and raising awareness among stakeholders. The second component will finance consulting services to analyze barriers and financing opportunities for sustainable activities, support financial institutions in environmental risk management and conceptualize green financial products. The third component will generate information on the socio-environmental requirements of the European market and advise decision-makers on the matter.
