USAID announces $4.5 million in humanitarian assistance for countries affected by Hurricane Beryl

Description

In response to Hurricane Beryl, the United States, through USAID, will provide $4.5 million in immediate humanitarian assistance to support response efforts. In Jamaica, $2.5 million will be allocated to repair homes, address water and sanitation needs, support logistics operations and provide essential relief items such as cleaning kits, hygiene kits and tarps. Additionally, market-based assistance will be offered to help affected residents purchase household essentials and other necessary items. In Grenada and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, a total of $2 million, $1 million for each country, will be provided to strengthen relief efforts.
