Canada contributes more than $1.2 million in response to Hurricane Beryl in the Caribbean

Description

Canada is supporting the Caribbean with more than $1 million in humanitarian assistance funding in response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Beryl. Of the funds, $500,000 will go to the World Food Program (WFP) for emergency food assistance and logistical services. Additionally, $160,000 will be allocated to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies for relief operations in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada and Jamaica. Another $350,000 will be used to send essential relief items to the Jamaica Red Cross, and a contribution of $200,000 to the Caribbean Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA).
