Innovation and Institutional Strengthening Program for Food Security

The project seeks to improve food security by strengthening public agricultural services. The project consists of several components that focus on increasing the capacity of the Agricultural Development Institute (INDAP) to support family, peasant and indigenous agriculture, improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the services provided by the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG). to protect the country's phyto and zoosanitary heritage, and improve the capabilities of the Ministry of Agriculture for agricultural risk management. The actions planned in the project include the implementation of sustainable agricultural development plans, modernization of INDAP's programmatic offering, and the implementation of a modernized extension model that uses digital tools to improve service delivery. It also contemplates the strengthening of the SAG's diagnostic and biosafety capabilities, the modernization of its laboratories and the improvement of control and surveillance systems through advanced technologies.
