Fecha de inicio: N/A
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

The project seeks to reduce malnutrition in vulnerable areas through the development and consumption of biofortified crops such as maize, sweet potato and beans. Initiated in 2013 and supported by national policies, the project emphasizes research and innovation to integrate biofortified foods into the country's food chains and nutritional assistance programs. The main expected outputs include specific varieties of biofortified crops, post-harvest manuals, value chain models, and fact sheets for the processing and nutritional use of these crops. The project is expected to directly benefit 70 producers and 300 consumers, in addition to contributing to national food and nutrition programs, improving the availability and consumption of nutritious foods. The project results will also be disseminated through a national data platform to ensure the replicability of the technologies developed and expand their impact to more producers and consumers in Panama.
