PROBOSQUES I project in Colombia

The first phase of the ProBosques project was implemented from January 2020 to October 2023, during these 3 years the project supported the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture and environmental authorities in reducing deforestation by promoting Sustainable Forest Management in Meta and Caquetá working with forest users and implementing actions so that they benefit from its sustainable use. , implementing measures through local, regional and national levels focused on three main lines of action. First, in the area of Value Chains, it focused on training small and medium-sized businesses and producer associations to improve their access to markets. On the other hand, the initiative worked to strengthen regional Governance, collaborating with the Roundtables. of Meta and Caquetá to promote the development, coordination and implementation of regional and local strategies aimed at promoting sustainable use of the forest. Additionally, at the national level, ProBosques collaborated with various government and academic entities to support the implementation of CONPES 4021 of 2020.
