Description
The main objectives are: (i) to strengthen the competitiveness of agricultural producers by preventing and reducing the impact of pests on crops and livestock of economic value and facilitating access to international markets; and (ii) to safeguard the country's agrosanitary heritage by protecting against the entry, spread and increase of relevant pests and diseases. Fulfillment of these objectives will improve the competitiveness of the agricultural sector, raise farmers' incomes and ensure higher quality products for consumers.
