Fecha de inicio: 04/11/2015
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

The purpose of this Law was to define the responsibilities of the State in the promotion and development of family farming, recognizing its fundamental role in food security, the conservation of agrobiodiversity, the sustainable use of natural resources, the promotion of local economies, the generation of rural employment and the strengthening of communities, through the implementation of public policies. It should be noted that the regulation of the law was approved by Supreme Decree N°015-2016-MINAGRI. Family farming is understood as the system of life and production developed by men and women of the same family in rural areas, who manage diversified productive units that include agricultural, livestock, forestry, artisanal fishing, aquaculture, beekeeping and rural industrial activities, among others. The main purpose of this Law was to improve the living conditions of families involved in family farming, reduce rural poverty and guide the actions of the various levels of government under a multisectoral and intergovernmental approach. To this end, policies were promoted to facilitate access to productive, technological and financial resources. It was amended on June 28, 2023 by Law No. 31805.
