Description

Reduce the social, environmental and economic impacts of climate change and take advantage of opportunities, promoting sustainable development through economic growth, social progress and environmental protection through mitigation initiatives and adaptation actions, so that Costa Rica improves the quality of life of its inhabitants and its ecosystems, by moving towards a competitive carbon neutral economy by 2021. This shared responsibility must be given through the development of capabilities and legitimacy to influence both the National Agenda and the International Agenda .The Strategy, clearly oriented towards action, was defined around six strategic components, the main ones being Mitigation and Adaptation. The other components are transversal: Metrics, Capacity development and technological transfer, Public awareness, education and cultural change, and Financing
