Institutional strategy for the articulation of policies and actions in Colombia

Fecha de inicio: 01/07/2011

Description

The Institutional Strategy for the Articulation of Policies and Actions regarding climate change in Colombia highlights the country's need to understand and act against this phenomenon as a problem of economic and social development. In this sense, it seeks to create spaces for sectors and territories to integrate this problem into their planning processes, articulate all actors to make appropriate use of resources, reduce exposure and sensitivity to risk, increase the capacity of response and prepare the country to move towards the path of sustainable development, generating competitiveness and efficiency. The strategy recognizes the urgent need to undertake appropriate adaptation and mitigation measures and sets out the framework within which they will be generated. However, since it is still necessary to coordinately produce the inputs to prioritize these measures, the strategy does not intend to reach said prioritization.
