Law 27520 that creates the national climate change cabinet in Argentina

Description

Law 27,520 establishes the minimum budgets for adaptation and mitigation to global climate change, with the objective of guaranteeing the protection of the environment and promoting sustainable development at the national level. The main objectives of this law include the development of strategies and policies to study and respond to the impact of climate change, promote the mitigation of greenhouse gases, and reduce the vulnerability of human and natural systems. To implement these objectives, the law creates the National Climate Change Cabinet, chaired by the Chief of the Cabinet of Ministers. This cabinet has the function of coordinating the implementation of the National Plan for Adaptation and Mitigation to Climate Change and all public policies related to climate change. It is made up of authorities from various government areas such as Environment, Energy, Agriculture, Health, and others, ensuring a transversal and multidisciplinary approach in the management of climate change.
