Description

The main objective of the Saint Lucia Climate Change Adaptation Policy is to guide and encourage a national process to address the short, medium and long-term effects of climate change in a coordinated, comprehensive and participatory manner. The action plan to implement this policy includes a set of integrated actions that range from creating an enabling environment through the establishment of appropriate policies, legislation and institutional infrastructure, to strengthening education, training and raising awareness about change. climate. It also focuses on ensuring predictable and adequate financial flows to support adaptation initiatives, actively involving the private sector and civil society in financing. At the implementation level, measures include incorporating adaptation practices into national and sectoral planning, promoting sustainable agriculture, protecting biodiversity, and strengthening infrastructure to withstand extreme climate events.
