Description
Proclamation by the Governor of California declaring a statewide state of emergency due to the developing 2026–2027 El Niño event. It directs state and local preparedness coordination for severe weather, flooding, coastal flooding, erosion, landslides, and mud and debris flows; mobilization and pre-positioning of personnel, equipment, and supplies; streamlined emergency procurement, permitting, and approvals; preparation of transportation and flood-control infrastructure; use of flood flows for groundwater recharge; coordination to maintain and restore essential services; and expanded accessible multilingual public communications on preparedness, alerts, evacuation, and disaster assistance.
