Supreme Decree No. 5658: Declaration of the 2026 Agricultural Census as a National Priority

Bolivia's Supreme Decree No. 5658 declares the implementation of the 2026 Agricultural Census a national priority and establishes the provisions required for its planning, organization, implementation and interinstitutional coordination. The National Institute of Statistics (INE) is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, processing, systematizing, analyzing and disseminating the results of the Agricultural Census. Enumeration will take place from September through December 2026 and will update statistical information on agricultural production units throughout the country in order to strengthen the formulation, monitoring and evaluation of public policies related to agricultural productive development, food security, the rural economy and territorial planning. The Decree requires the participation and cooperation of public entities, private institutions, social and producer organizations and the general population, and specifically instructs central-government entities, the Armed Forces, the Bolivian Police and other institutions to provide information, physical infrastructure, equipment, transportation and support personnel. Participation in the Census is mandatory for natural and legal persons engaged in agricultural activities. Information collected is confidential and may be used exclusively for statistical purposes and not for tax, fiscal, administrative, judicial, inspection, control or property-right purposes. The operation is financed through the Strengthening of the Statistical System of the Plurinational State of Bolivia Program, financed by the Inter-American Development Bank under Loan Agreement No. 5514/OC-BO, approved through Law No. 1447.
