Anticipatory Action Framework for Drought in Honduras 2026–2027

The Anticipatory Action Framework for Drought in Honduras 2026–2027 establishes a coordinated mechanism to mobilize assistance before the impacts of a forecast drought materialize. It includes triggers based on seasonal precipitation forecasts, pre-agreed activities and pre-arranged financing from the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF). The framework prioritizes five municipalities in the departments of El Paraíso and Francisco Morazán and provides for multisectoral assistance in food security, agriculture, water, sanitation and hygiene, health and nutrition to protect up to 65,000 people.
