Reform of the law against cattle rustling to protect small producers

Venezuela’s National Assembly announced the start of discussions to reform the legal framework against cattle rustling and move toward a new Law for the Protection of Livestock Activity. The initiative seeks to control, prevent and punish livestock theft, especially protecting small livestock producers, and to establish a technical committee with the Ministry of Agriculture and local producers to update sectoral regulations predating the 1999 Constitution.
