Resolution No. 331 of 2024: Colombia's Public Policy on Agroecology

Resolution No. 331 of 2024 adopts Colombia's Public Policy on Agroecology as a framework for promoting the transition toward sustainable agrifood systems through agroecological principles and practices. The policy coordinates actions aimed at strengthening the capacities of producers, rural communities and organizations, promoting knowledge generation and social appropriation, research and innovation, agricultural technical assistance and extension, producer organization and knowledge exchange. It also promotes the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, soil health, productive diversification, family and community farming, and the strengthening of territorial food and production systems. The policy establishes mechanisms for coordination, implementation, monitoring and participation to guide public action on agroecology and foster resilient, inclusive and environmentally sustainable production systems.
