ICA Resolution 3168 of 2015: Requirements for the Production, Import, Export and Marketing of Seeds Derived from Genetic Improvement

ICA Resolution 3168 of 2015 established the Colombian regulatory framework applicable to the production, importation, exportation, and commercialization of seeds derived from genetic improvement for planting, as well as to the registration of agronomic evaluation and plant breeding research units. It defined requirements regarding genetic, physical, physiological, and phytosanitary quality; registration and certification procedures; labeling and marking conditions; agronomic evaluation trials; and mechanisms for inspection, surveillance, and control. The Resolution repealed, among others, ICA Resolution 970 of 2010 and was subsequently repealed by ICA Resolution 15141 of 2024.
