Model Regulatory Framework to Promote and Strengthen Peasant Economies and Family Farming in the Andean Region — Andean Parliament Recommendation No. 419

Regional model regulatory framework adopted through Andean Parliament Recommendation No. 419 to guide member states in designing and strengthening policies, regulations and instruments supporting peasant economies and family farming. The framework promotes the recognition and strengthening of family and peasant farmers, their organizations and rural communities, as well as their access to productive services, technical assistance, financing, markets and producer association mechanisms. It also promotes sustainable rural development, food security, socioeconomic inclusion, capacity building and stronger integration of producers into value chains and markets. It is a regional reference and regulatory harmonization instrument rather than a directly binding national law in member countries.
