Resolution No. 0209: Contingency Plan for the Prevention and Control of the Asian Giant Hornet in Ecuador

Resolution No. 0209 of Ecuador Phytosanitary and Zoosanitary Regulation and Control Agency (Agrocalidad) brings into force the Contingency Plan for the Prevention and Control of the Asian Giant Hornet (AAG). The instrument establishes procedures and an operational structure to prepare the institutional response to the possible introduction of this exotic pest into Ecuador. It aims to support timely detection and action during a sanitary emergency and prevent the pest from spreading among honeybee populations. The plan is a zoosanitary prevention and response instrument; its adoption does not imply confirmed presence of the pest in Ecuador.
