Peru National Disaster Risk Management Policy to 2050 — Supreme Decree No. 038-2021-PCM

Peru National Disaster Risk Management Policy to 2050, approved by Supreme Decree No. 038-2021-PCM, establishes a nationwide multisectoral strategic framework to reduce the vulnerability of the population and its livelihoods to disaster risks. The policy addresses structural drivers of vulnerability and guides public institutions at all levels of government within the National Disaster Risk Management System (SINAGERD). Its objectives and guidelines promote better understanding of disaster risks, improved territorial occupation and land-use conditions, stronger institutional disaster risk management, enhanced preparedness and emergency response, and recovery and reconstruction incorporating disaster risk reduction. It also establishes coordination, service delivery, monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to guide policy implementation through 2050.
