Presidential Order - Direct Fertilizer Subsidy in Colombia [ES]

Through a direct presidential order, the government has mandated that one trillion Colombian pesos be allocated as a fertilizer subsidy to mitigate the impact on production costs and curb food inflation (given the price increases triggered by the conflict in the Middle East). The order directs Ecopetrol to purchase fertilizers under contract and to deduct the subsidy from the profits the company remits to the national government. The president made the announcement during a land-transfer ceremony in Puerto Boyacá.
