Proyecto de Ley de Plaguicidas para el Caribe

Bill to guide the revision and updating of national legislation on pesticides in Caribbean countries. It regulates the entire life cycle of pesticides with the aim of protecting human, animal and plant health, as well as the marine and terrestrial environment. It establishes an inter-ministerial Registration Board articulated with a regional technical evaluation mechanism, which issues non-binding recommendations to national authorities. It includes provisions on highly hazardous pesticides, advertising, labelling, operating licences, integrated pest management and harmonisation of standards at the regional level.
