Description

"The National Irrigation Information System (SisNIR) is one of the instruments of the National Irrigation Policy, in accordance with Article 8 of Law No. 12,787 of January 11, 2013. In accordance with the Policy, SisNIR is intended for the collection, processing, storage, and retrieval of information related to irrigated agriculture. On June 15, 2023, the first module of SisNIR was launched, related to Public Irrigation Projects. At this stage, the system is only available for the Ministry of Regional Development (MIDR) and its affiliated entities (Codevasf and Dnocs) to enter data on the PPIs implemented. Three more modules are expected to be launched by October 2023. As the next modules are released, parts of SisNIR will be opened to the public to facilitate access to information on irrigation in the country."
