Description

This Act provides the legal basis for the prevention and control of plant pests in Trinidad and Tobago. It governs the importation and movement of plants, plant products, and soil; establishes the Plant Quarantine Service; authorizes inspection, detention, treatment, destruction, or confiscation of regulated articles; and enables the declaration of notifiable pests and the issuance of specific quarantine orders. Through these instruments, the Act ensures national biosecurity and supports safe agricultural trade.
