Executive Decree No. 40364-MAG – General Provisions for the Prevention of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense Tropical Race 4 (FOC TR4) - Costa Rica

The executive decree establishes mandatory measures to prevent the introduction and spread of Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. cubense Tropical Race 4 (FOC TR4) in Costa Rica. It bans the importation of plants, dried plant materials, handicrafts, soil samples and organic growth media originating from countries where the pathogen is present, and mandates compliance with Pest Risk Analysis ARP-004-2016. The decree assigns the State Phytosanitary Service (SFE) and the National Banana Corporation (CORBANA) responsibility for developing an official action plan, strengthens phytosanitary surveillance and border controls, and requires producers to report any suspected symptoms in musaceae crops.
