Description

The Sustainable Finance Working Group of Panama was established on September 25, 2018, with the support of ANCON, the backing of the UNEP-FI Program of UN Environment, and the leadership of the Panama Stock Exchange. It is an inclusive and unique group in Latin America, with the participation of 95% of Panama’s financial sector segments from the outset. Its vision is to position Panama as a regional hub for sustainable finance, and its mission is to promote a financial system that supports an inclusive, resilient, and sustainable economy. The GTFS brings together public institutions, private organizations, and environmental entities to strengthen practices, governance frameworks, and tools linked to sustainable finance. Its initial activities include designing training programs, developing best-practice guides, creating an online information hub, and elaborating a referential taxonomy for the country.
