Global Framework “Tropical Forest Forever Facility” (TFFF) – Multilateral Financial Mechanism for Tropical Forest Conservation and Climate Action

The Global Framework “Tropical Forest Forever Facility” (TFFF), adopted during COP30 (Belém, 2025), establishes a multilateral financial mechanism aimed at conserving tropical forests and reducing emissions from deforestation through results-based payments and public–private partnerships. The TFFF seeks to mobilize up to USD 125 billion in economic incentives for countries and communities that maintain or restore verified forest cover, allocating at least 20% of the resources to Indigenous Peoples and local communities. This framework represents a global policy tool that promotes climate action, biodiversity protection, and environmental health by integrating the sectors of environment, health, development, and sustainable finance, in alignment with SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
