Description

This resolution declares a phytosanitary emergency throughout Peru following the detection of the Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense Race 4 Tropical pest, which affects plantain and banana crops. The measure, issued by the National Agricultural Health Service (SENASA), establishes surveillance, quarantine, control, and eradication actions to prevent the spread of the pest and protect the national production of musaceae, which has a high economic and social impact. It includes provisions on the movement of plant material, isolation of affected properties, elimination of infectious foci, and inter-institutional coordination to address the emergency.
