Description

This resolution establishes phytosanitary measures and requirements for the importation of in vitro banana plants (Musa spp.) obtained through modern biotechnology (meristem culture). It aims to prevent the introduction and spread of quarantine pests, particularly Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense Tropical Race 4 (Foc TR4) through laboratory propagation material. The resolution regulates laboratory accreditation, import permits, inspection and quarantine procedures, and the certification of virus-free plant material.
