Description

The Protocol of Sustainable Finance of the Banking Industry in Argentina is a voluntary framework agreement signed in 2019 by financial institutions in the country to integrate sustainability into their operations, policies, and products. It seeks to promote financial practices that consider social, environmental, and economic impacts, fostering long-term sustainable development. The document establishes concrete strategies covering the institutionalization of sustainability policies, the creation of responsible financial products, the management of environmental and social risks, and the adoption of sustainable internal processes. It also includes coordination among banks through a Sustainability Board and periodic disclosure and review of progress. Its implementation strengthens the Argentine financial system’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement.
