National Action plan for Agriculture GHG Inventory Improvement Dominica 2022

This plan aims to strengthen Dominica's capacity to improve its agricultural greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory. The document assesses the status of institutional arrangements, data sources, monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) procedures, and quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) measures. It highlights the lack of formal institutionalization, dependence on FAOSTAT data, and weak technical and archiving capacity, exacerbated by the destruction caused by Hurricane Maria in 2017. The plan proposes creating a climate change committee through the new Environment Act, improving the training of extension workers and technical staff, establishing national emission factors, and setting up a digital archiving system.
