Strategic outlook of Mexican banking 2023 - Performance Evaluation of Multiple Banking Institutions

The Strategic outlook of Mexican banking 2023 is a comprehensive evaluation framework developed by the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit to assess the actions and strategies of 49 banks aimed at improving access, efficiency and depth of the Mexican financial system. This evaluation systematizes the results of the Strategic Questionnaire that is part of the Performance Evaluation of Multiple Banking Institutions, addressing priority aspects such as financial inclusion, digitalization, sustainable finance, gender equality and risk management. The framework allows UBVA to have key elements for the design, implementation, evaluation and adjustment of regulatory policies that address the needs of the banking sector and its users. The 2023 results show important advances in gender equality, inclusion, digitalization, payment methods and sustainability, maintaining a resilient, solid and dynamic banking system with trends marked by the adoption of new technologies. The outlook seeks to promote the development of the Mexican financial system as a strategic sector for economic growth, people's wellbeing and attention to traditionally excluded groups.
