National Action Plan for Agriculture GHG Inventory Improvement The Bahamas 2022

Fecha de inicio: 2022
Fecha de fin: N/A

Description

This plan seeks to strengthen the Bahamas' capacity to improve its agricultural greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory. The document diagnoses the current situation of institutional arrangements, data sources, quality control procedures, and MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification) systems. It recognizes the heavy reliance on external consultants, the absence of a national compiler for the agricultural sector, and the lack of regular agricultural censuses (the last one was in 1994). The plan proposes actions to institutionalize an agricultural GHG compiler, improve data collection (including censuses and annual records), establish QA/QC (quality assurance and control) protocols, and consolidate a digital archiving system to ensure continuity, transparency, and less uncertainty in estimated emissions.
