National Action Plan for Agriculture GHG Inventory Improvement - Suriname 2022

Plan developed within the framework of the GCF CARICOM AgREADY project, which aims to strengthen Suriname's capacity to improve its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory in the agricultural sector. The document identifies the country's current situation in terms of institutional arrangements, data collection, quality control, and MRV (measurement, reporting, and verification) systems. It also establishes a set of actions to formalize climate units, improve the quality of agricultural data (especially on rice, soils, and enteric fermentation), and move toward more accurate methodologies, reducing dependence on external consultants and fostering national technical capacity.
