Fecha de inicio: 2023
Fecha de fin: 2030

Description

The Suriname Aligned National Action Programme to Combat Land Degradation is a comprehensive strategic framework developed to address desertification, land degradation and drought in Suriname during the period 2023-2030. This programme aligns with the UNCCD 2018-2030 Strategic Framework and seeks to achieve land degradation neutrality through the implementation of sustainable land and soil management practices. The programme establishes five strategic objectives including improving the condition of affected ecosystems, improving the living conditions of affected populations, mitigating the effects of drought, generating global environmental benefits and mobilizing substantial financial and non-financial resources. Implementation will be carried out through a participatory approach involving multiple stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society organizations, private sector and local communities, with special emphasis on the participation of women and youth in decision-making.
