Institutional Strategic Plan 2014-2019 "Agriculture for Good Living"

The Institutional Strategic Plan of El Salvador's Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock for the 2014-2019 period constitutes the main tool to materialize state policy for the agricultural sector and rural development. The plan focuses on increasing agricultural, forestry, fisheries and aquaculture production, productivity and competitiveness to contribute to economic growth, decent employment generation and food sovereignty. It contemplates the implementation of climate change mitigation and adaptation measures, natural resource conservation and equitable and inclusive development of rural families. The framework establishes eight strategic and missional programs ranging from family agriculture to institutional modernization. Its main objective is to achieve good living for Salvadoran families through strengthening the agricultural sector as a dynamic source of economic and social development.
