Fecha de inicio: 2024
Fecha de fin: 2026

Description

The Model Law on Agri-Food Cooperatives is an initiative led by FAO and approved by PARLATINO in 2024, aimed at providing countries in Latin America and the Caribbean with a legal framework to strengthen family farming through cooperativism. The law promotes the formalization of rural cooperatives, preferential access to markets, financing, and fiscal incentives, with a strong emphasis on the inclusion of women, youth, and Indigenous peoples. Its adoption seeks to enhance sustainability, collective organization, and territorial development within agri-food systems.
