Description

The Green Climate Fund is an operating entity of the financial mechanism under Article 11 of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Its purpose is to make a significant and ambitious contribution to global efforts towards combating climate change. It promotes the paradigm shift towards low-emission and climate-resilient development pathways by providing support to developing countries to limit or reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and to adapt to the impacts of climate change. It operates under a country-driven approach, promoting effective engagement of relevant institutions and stakeholders at the country level.
