The Biden-Harris administration announced an investment of more than $12 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act for projects in 2023 that support the Tribal Forest Protection Act. These initiatives include vegetation management, hazardous fuels reduction, and cultural studies on Indigenous lands, incorporating traditional knowledge. The projects span multiple states and seek to strengthen forest co-management with Tribal communities, create jobs, and encourage youth engagement. This initiative is part of a broader plan to honor treaties, promote environmental justice, and strengthen nation-to-nation relations.
