The USDA introduces resources and agreements for the Indigenous Food Sovereignty Initiative, promoting traditional foodways and improving the health of Native American communities. It includes manuals, regional seed hubs, educational videos, and recipes featuring Indigenous foods developed in partnership with tribal organizations. The initiative fosters youth engagement and research based on Indigenous Traditional Ecological Knowledge, reflecting the U.S. government’s commitment to tribal self-determination and incorporating Indigenous perspectives into federal agricultural and food programs.
