Description

This law establishes the regulatory framework for the control, registration, importation, manufacturing, commercialization and application of pesticides, fertilizers, herbicides and chemical products for agricultural use in El Salvador. The regulation seeks to guarantee the quality of these products, protect human and animal health, prevent environmental damage and regulate the responsibilities of manufacturers, importers and users. It establishes mandatory registration procedures, authorization of commercial establishments, standards for aerial and terrestrial application, and an administrative sanctions system. It defines the attributions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock as the competent authority for the implementation and control of compliance with these provisions.
